An intimate half-day room for the franchisees-to-be who are ready, but don't yet have the data points to commit.

"I've always been curious about franchising. I'm sick of my 9 to 5. With all the layoffs happening, I feel I need to be prepared for a Plan B. But franchising just seems hard to navigate, and there's a real lack of guidance in this industry. So I'm scared."What most of you told me at FIM Weekend 2026
Many of you have asked for an offline, in-person event. Somewhere to learn how to actually evaluate a franchise business and connect with other people doing the same homework. So this is the first of its kind. I'm bringing the industry experts and the brands into one intimate setting, half a day, for us to connect properly.
Most franchise events here optimise for footfall. Brands pay big to be on stage, attendees show up for free food, and the actual conversations (the candid ones, the careful ones) happen quietly in a corner.
The Franchise Insider is built differently. The room is intentionally small, so the conversations can be real. The brand pitches are bounded, so you don't sit through hours of pitches dressed up as content. Industry authorities and a lender are in the room, because that's where the real decision-making happens. And the ticket price is deliberately low (RM 69 early, RM 99 standard) so money isn't the filter. Seriousness is.
If you're thinking about franchising as a real path, come and ask the hard questions in this room. It's much cheaper than learning them the expensive way later.
A curated set of franchise brands. Vetted before they were invited. More coming as we finalize.
I've just returned from the United States nine months ago after working in franchising for a few years. During my time in the US, I supported over 100 franchise brands. The Franchise Insider sits inside my second start-up, MYFranchiseGuide, which was born with one interest: raising the standard of franchising in Asia.
I came back because I saw something clear. We are behind, but the potential here is huge. With the right infrastructure, mindset and knowledge, franchising can help our country build real businesses, real jobs, and real wealth for the people who run them. And it can contribute properly to the growth of our economy.
The Franchise Insider is born with that same interest. Raising the standard, one small room at a time. If you've been on the fence for a while, I built this for you. Not sure if we will organize another one of these events, so I truly hope you can make it.
A practical walkthrough you can use the next time a franchise is pitched to you.
A practical list, gathered from operators and lawyers, of what to ask a franchisor before any money changes hands.
Sit with the brands in the room and ask the questions you have, face to face, without a sales filter.
What banks are approving in 2026, what they're rejecting, and how to position your application so it has a real shot.
Not panellists from a stage you never get near. Operators sitting at the same lunch table as you.
Connect with others who want to break free from corporate and seriously consider their options.
Carfe is a family-owned café tucked away in Taman Sea, with a beautiful collection of vintage cars on display. We've taken it over for the morning, just for us. No expo halls. No floor staff in matching t-shirts. No swag tables.
Just fifty seats, arranged so you can hear every operator, ask the brand pitching you a follow-up question, and grab the lender by the elbow at lunch if you've got something on your mind. This is the room where you can finally ask the question you've been carrying for a while.
It's intentionally small. It took me a while to decide on this setting. I hope you'll like it.

50 seats. Once they're gone, registration closes. We'd rather turn people away than break the room.
Reserve my seat · RM 69There are live brand pitches on the agenda, and we're upfront about that. They're one of five sessions and bounded to under two hours. The rest of the day is independent. A lender giving sector-level guidance. And really kind-hearted operators sharing their experience. You won't be cornered.
Yes. By learning about the businesses and the perspectives in the room, you'll make a much more informed decision about whether this is for you. Worst case scenario, you walk out with a clearer view of what it takes to build a real business. That's useful whether you're already a business owner or thinking of becoming one.
The event is funded by partner brands and sponsors. The RM 69 or RM 99 ticket isn't paying for the room. It's making sure the room is full of people who actually want to be there. Free events fill with people who don't show up. We chose against that.
Vetted. We've turned down brands we didn't think the room would benefit from. The partners pay for the platform. They don't pay for our endorsement.
Yes, if you're considering scaling, switching, or you just want a clearer read on where the industry is heading. You'll also likely be useful in the lunch-table conversations.
Sorry, tickets are final. But you can transfer your seat to someone you trust. Just let us know who's coming in your place before the day.
No. The sessions are off the record by design. That's what allows the operators and the lender to speak candidly. You're paying for the room, not the replay.
Yes, especially if you're thinking about buying a franchise as a family or a group of friends. All the stakeholders should be aligned before any money moves. But the cap is real. We can't accommodate more than 50 people. Once it's full, we'll close registration.
Early bird closes Friday, 5 June. Standard rate runs until the room fills.
